Jaskelis is the perfect example of an artist that is able to build bridges between two worlds. Not only her roots – she’s of Nigerian, Finnish and Dutch descent – but also her sound can be described as a fusion between genres and cultures. Bending genres by mixing pop, r&b, and soul with her always heavily infused Afro music, she has already been able to leave a noticeable mark in the music scene in Europe and in the African diaspora. Having also performed as support act for the likes of Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, and Runtown, Jaskelis has proven to be an artist on the rise to look out for in the international music scene.
Her first single “Busy Body” came out in 2017 and gained recognition in prominent Dutch media among which radio FunX and multimedia platform 3voor12. The single got picked up by several national, and international blogs as well. It was a swift start whereafter multiple successful singles followed. This resulted in being playlisted in various Spotify editorial playlists like ‘New Music Friday’, ‘Vibes’ and ‘La Vida Loca’ amongst others.
More recently she released “Rollercoaster” with Nigerian pop artist Bella Alubo, which only affirms her talent for building a crossover sound even more. Geared with lots of new music and energy for 2023, Jaskelis is bound to surprise her listeners with interesting collaborations, and energetic and uplifting tunes.
